CORDOBA

As impressive and surprising Cordoba presents itself to today's visitor, as impressive and surprising was its past. In 11th century it was one of the most important capitals in Europe. People of the most different cultures and religions - Jews, Muslims and Christians - were living together, and important philosophers, scientists and artists emerged from here. The Great Mosque of Cordoba was considered a wonder of the medieval world by both Muslims and Christians. On the other hand Cordoba is as well a very lively town in the best Andalusian tradition, a town of Flamenco and bullfighting, and certainly one of the most attractive destinations in southern Spain.

GRANADA

Granada was the finest city on the peninsula during the period of Muslim domination of Spain.  Today it is still home to the greatest Muslim legacy in Europe, and one of the most inspiring attractions on the Continent: the 11th-century Alhambra. The Alhambra truly is the stuff of fairy tales. From outside, its red fortress towers and walls appear plain, if imposing, rising from woods of cypress and elm, with the Sierra Nevada forming a magnificent backdrop. Inside; the marvellously decorated emirs' palace, the Palacio Nazaríes (Nasrid Palace) and the Generalife gardens, you're in for a treat.

SEVILLA

One of the first people to fall in love with Seville was the poet-king Al-Mutamid, and the city's ability to dazzle has not abated since. It takes a stony heart not to be captivated by its exuberant atmosphere - stylish, confident, ancient, proud, yet also convivial, intimate and fun-loving. If you don't know what alegría means, Seville is a fine place to learn.
